Society News

Following a very fallow couple of years we are pleased to announce that we have been able to secure the Sunley Suite at the Royal Festival Hall for our convention on March 5th 2022 between 10.15am and 1.30pm. Obviously we live in difficult times at the moment so will keep you up to date with any adverse developments, but hopefully will see a good turnout of members and friends.

Festival Times 122 now available

The Avenue that doesn't appear on a map features on the front cover while inside there's Jack Hawkins on the Southbank,  The Tyne Tunnel, A visit to the Campania and lots more.

If you would like 4 copies of Festival Times a year all you have to do is join the Society. Details and membership form are available on the 'contact page'.

The Twentieth Century Society are presenting a series of online talks about various Festival related subjects including Naomi Games talking about her Father's work on the Festival Symbol, and Geoffrey Hollis's talk on the Festival Gardens in 1951. You can also catch-up with Geoffrey's recent introductory online talk about the Festival of Britain.  A small charge is made for people attending these talks (from the comfort of your own computer) but it is well worth it.

Details of talks and bookings, both catch-up and forthcoming, can be found by clicking HERE
